Houndshow Open Show 2023 Critique

Many thank to the Hound Association Committee for the invitation to judge their show. Thank you to the exhibitors for presenting their lovely hounds to me, all well presented and a good representation of the breed.

Puppy Dog – no entries

Yearling Dog – 1 entry

  1. Peach’s Quantistico Guiseppe to Kilbourne. Well made strong youngster. Lovely head with neat ears. A strong neck into well laid shoulder and good forechest. Well balanced youngster with pleasing outline. Moved soundly. Pleased to award him RBOB

Post Graduate Dog – 2 entries (1abs)

  1. Metsellar-Williams’ Kaleginy Drummond at Grendel. Three year old with a nice head into strong neck and good lay of shoulder. Deep brisket with strong loin. Would like to him see him extended more when standing. Well muscled hindquarters and moved well.

Open Dog – 1 entry (1 abs)

Puppy Bitch – 2 entries

  1. Constantine’s Zeldini Anju at Kaleginy. Eight month old baby. Sweet head with lovely dark eye. Correct shoulder into nice overall outline and neat feet. Moved well for a youngster. BP

  2. Peach’s Kilbourne Devon. Ten months old, another sweet head, dark eye. Good shoulder and topline with a pleasing outline. A little uncooperative for handler today.

Yearling Bitch – 3 entries

A lovely class of promising youngsters, a difficult choice of placings on the day.

  1. Cannon’s Kilbourne Opal’s Fire to Abayomi. Pretty bitch with a lovely head and beautiful expression. Strong neck with good forechest and shoulders. Well muscled with a good topline. Moved well. Pleased to award her BOB.

  2. Lewis’ Luckhurst Whitefeatherfal. A very pretty and shapely bitch. Strong neck into well laid shoulder. Deep brisket into strong loin. A little frisky for owner today.

Post Graduate Bitch – 0 entries

Open Bitch – 4 entries (1 abs)

Three lovely bitches present today, and lots to like about each.

  1. Peach’s Kilbourne Flora MacDeva. Pretty bitch with lovely dark eye. Strong neck into good shoulder set. Deep chest with good tuck into strong loin. Graceful on the move.

  2. Constantine’s Kwaricott Kaleginy Bettinsoli. A lovely strong bitch with a sweet head and expression. A nice overall outline, with good shoulders, deep brisket and strong hindquarters. A really good mover.
