Scottish Kennel Club (May) 2006 Critique

PD (6). 1 Peach’s Greyflax The Mighty Quinn To Kilbourne. 10 mths, lovely head, fair shoulder & straight front, good topline, moved well, I found this one just a touch long in body, hope will balance out later. 2 Cunningham’s Killoeter Lamlash at Aonachdubh. 7 mths, v much a baby, nice head, good shoulder & front for age, in good coat, I look forward to seeing this one in a year or two; 3 Whyte’s Gilrivie Magnus.

JD (3). 1 Meer’s Lealla Kinrossie of Lordswell. 14 mths, liked his head & front, excellent topline, I hope he will settle with age, won this class on sound movement; 2 Mulligan’s Brylach Macgregor. 9.5 mths, a real baby in this class. Nice head & ears, fair topline & promising front, nice rear angulation, lost this class on maturity & movement.

PGD (5). 1 Smart’s Greystiel Lochashie. Lovely young d, super head, good front & excellent topline, good angulation front & rear, moved with style & v sound, RCC; 2 Morton’s Rosslyn Lebrel. 3 yrs, nice head, well angulated front & rear, a little flat in topline, which did not alter standing or moving; 3 Cunningham’s Dorrator Nathaniel at Aonachdubh.

LD (3). 1 Peach’s Greyflax Myth To Kilbourne. One & 2 v close, nice head & expression, at nearly 2 yrs showing a lot of promise, excellent front & rear angulation & well balanced; 2 Traynor’s Kenmilltri Jock. V nice head & expression, good front & topline, both 1 & 2 looked good standing & moving, but 2 lost out on rear angulation, wasn’t surprised to find out later they were half-brothers.

OD 94). 1 Finnett & Harrington’s Ch Hyndsight Wind of Change. 4 yrs, nice head & reach of neck, true in front & rear, moved soundly, looked good coming & in gait, in excellent coat & body, well deserved the CC & BOB; 2 Peach’s Kilbourne Nimrod. 3 yrs, close to 1, maybe needs another year, stood & moved really well, excellent head & expression, good bone & angulation, did not have the maturity of 1; 3 Meer’s Kilbourne Comanche of Lordswell.

PB (5). 1 Peach’s Pingleholl Ruby To Kilbourne. 11 mths excellent puppy, all good, moved really really well, hope I have the pleasure of judging her again when older; 2 Robertson’s Tartraven Rosaidh. 7 mths, this looked a super young puppy & moved sort of well & seemed to have promise, if only she had stood still for more than 10 seconds or moved all legs in the same direction more than one step, but I did like her; 3 Spence’s Brylach Macbeth.

JB (3). 1 Cartmell’s Riding the Wind with Cusidh. 17 mths nice young female, fair head & shoulders, good topline, excellent height for body & good angulation front & rear, moved soundly; 2 Jackson’s Killoeter Kalanchoe. Looked more mature than 1, good angulation front & rear but a little long in body for me, moved well; 3 Cartmell’s Drawing Down The Moon To Cusidh.

YB (7). 1 Bailey’s Greyflax A Kind of Magic JW. 21 mths, nice bitch, nice head & ears, good topline & good front & rear angulation, looked really good on the move, lovely temperament; 2 Traynor’s Kilbourne Violet. Nice young bitch, nice head & ears, good topline, shoulders & front, moved well but needs to settle; 3 Wilson’s Auchnabreck Morar.

PGB (7). 1 Redmond’s Hyndsight Mystical With Greybrows. 2.25 yrs, I placed this one well before as a youngster & pleased to see what is nearing the finished article, super head, eye & ears, good reach of neck, good topline, moved well in front & rear, good in gait, good body & coat, pleased to award CC; 2 Gillie’s Dorrator Orla. Another nice type, fair head, neck & front, a little flat in topline on the move & movement needs to steady generally, has time on her side; 3 Robertson’s Tartraven Stac A' Chaorainn.

LB (7). 1 Bailey’s Greyflax Waterloo Sunset. 2 yrs, nice bitch of good type, good topline, well angulated in front & rear, moved well; 2 Carr’s Gentom Liath Caileag of Marandike ShCM. 4.5 yrs, true to type, good head & front, fair topline, moved well front & rear only just lost out to 1; 3 McLuskie’s Hearthstane Sheil.

OB (8). 1 Gillie’s Kilbourne Ruby Tuesday. 5 yrs, nice head & excellent reach of neck, well laid shoulders, excellent topline, well angulated & well balanced, moved well & looked good standing, RCC; 2 Finnett, Heathcoat & Piggott’s Ch Hyndsight Heaven Can Wait. Close between 1 & 2 although different types, fair head & ears, good reach of neck & good shoulders & topline, moved well coming & going & in gait. I had a preference for 1; 3 Gow’s Anmialchu Beinn Bheula.
