There are four officers of the Club: The President; Vice President; Hon Secretary and Hon Treasurer.  They each hold a four year term of office in rotation and, under Deerhound Club rules, are eligible to stand for re-election at the end of their term.

Vice President

  1. assists the President, whenever required.
  2. chairs the AGM if requested by the President.
  3. assists the Show Managers in complying with the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations regarding the Annual Open Breed Show relating to the venue.

Secretary of the Health sub committee

  1. Works with other members of the sub-committee to keep health matters under review.
  2. alerts the Deerhound Club Committee and the Membership about any potential and significant health matters as they arise.
  3. Enlists professional expertise in veterinary medicine, genetics and statistics as the need arises

  1. Responsible to the KC for the running of the Club.
  2. Annual Committee Ballot: Request for Nominations from UK members.
  3. Arrange for Voting Papers to be sent to each member.
  4. Annual mailing of AGM and Annual reports to all members.
  5. Organise Annual General Meeting and committee meetings through out year. Ensure all relevant documentation sent to KC.
  6. Apply for and obtain KC Licences, and issue contracts for Breed Show and Limited Show.
  7. Attend all meetings, producing Club Minutes of each.
  8. Be available to help/advise members.
  9. Guarantor to the KC.
 

Mrs. Sandra Cummings

Hon Treasurer

  1. Keep a record of all financial transactions for the Club’s affairs. The club financial year runs from January to December and membership renewal is from January. All cheques to reach treasurer by February 14th.
  2. Keep an accurate record of renewals and send a list to the Members Secretary monthly.
  3. The club has three accounts, a High interest account, a Reserve account and a Current account and transfers are regularly made to balance these accounts
  4. Prepare and present a Treasurer’s Report for the AGM and every Committee meeting.
  5. Maintain budgetary control of club events and stock.
  6. Guarantor to the KC.

New Members Secretary

  1. Ensures application forms sent out when requested, check details on return, and inform committee of applicants.
  2. Inform all successful applicants and send out Welcome Pack.
  3. Updates and Maintains Club Membership List on a regular basis.
  4. Liaises with Treasurer regarding Membership subscriptions.
  5. Ensures only fully paid up members vote at the AGM.
